Samuel Adegboyega University Council during its 41st Statutory Meeting, held on Friday, June 11, 2021, had a send-forth ceremony for the out-going members of Council, who had served the University Council meritoriously for almost ten years. The outgoing members are:
- Elder (Dr.) Bisi Ogunjobi, OON, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council.
- Sunday O. Ajayi, Representative of the Proprietor.
- (Mrs.) Olusola Omueti, Representative of the Proprietor
- Adedeji Haastrup, Representative of the Proprietor
- Pastor (Dr.) M. F. Olumbo, Representative of the Proprietor
- (Mrs.) F. M. Ogbe, Representative of Senate, and
- (Mrs.) B.O. Inegbeboh, Representative of Senate
Activities for the send-forth programme, included; comments on the out-going members by others, especially internal members of Council; toast; presentation of gifts; and response from the out-going members.
The out-going members of the Governing Council were full of gratitude to God, for giving them life, good health, grace and the desired wisdom to manage the affairs of the University since inception. They appreciated the Proprietor of the University for the Privilege given to them to serve on Samuel Adegboyega University Governing Council. They also acknowledged the invaluable contributions of other members who had served on the Council, including Prof. Eregie, Mrs. Ikhide, the Pioneer Vice-Chancellor, late Professor Folawumi Adedoyin, the immediate past Vice-Chancellor, late Professor Bernard Aigbokhan, late Pastor P.Z. Aginighan, and late Mr. C.I.A. Akhagbosu.
The Awards for meritorious service were presented to the out-going members. In his brief remark, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A.B. Idowu, on behalf of Senate, Management, staff and students, expressed delight on the achievements of the out-going Chairman and members of SAU Governing Council. According to him, Samuel Adegboyega University had a formidable foundation to build upon.
Responding, the out-going Chairman of Council, Elder (Dr.) Bisi Ogunjobi, thanked God for the journey so far. He appreciated every member of Council, and Management, for their support and valuable contributions towards the growth and development of Samuel Adegboyega University, Ogwa, Edo State. He expressed unreserved appreciations to the Onogie of Ogwa Kingdom, (past and present), the Chiefs, Elders and members of the community for their contributions and support to the University. He, also, expressed deep appreciation to Dr. Patrick O. Otaigbe, the Representative of Ogwa community on SAU Council for his obvious contributions, especially, the diplomatic approach to matters of concern between the University and the host community. He prayed for continued progress for the University, the host community and more strength for the Proprietor.
